How to start a day: Make coffee, get kids to school, rediscover an indie musical artist who was just getting started last time you listened to them and plow through all their new-to-you music on Youtube, get antisemitic anon hate on Tumblr, fix glittery nail polish.

Yes, really.

We are barrelling toward the end of October - Halloween is coming, as is the switchover from the Nightmare Fuel Project to NaNoWriMo. I still have not settled on what I'll be focusing on for NaNo this year. I might try to pull out an old novel and see what progress I can make it, or I might just sit down and write [s]porn[/s] erotica every day. Or create some new fairy tales. Or more horror. Or or or.

I'll figure it out when I get there.

I learned some interesting things yesterday, including that Bosslady thinks I've got the chops to advance pretty quickly within the organization. I'm mulling over the ups and downs of more scheduled hours and higher associated wage versus maintaining the part time level and continuing to attempt to make something happen for myself in the field in which I actually studied.

Still waiting to hear about the loan. Still driving my car as little as possible, and with the windows open.

Are any of you going to be doing NaNoWriMo? If I run writing group chats on Hangouts or Skype or something, possibly even simply in posts on here, would that be valuable for you or distracting?

I'm in for NaNoWriMo; no idea if this idea has any weight behind it or not, but I'll be trying. Writing hangouts would be great; I spend most of the writing year sitting in our region's IRC channel with only the bot for company.

I'm an oddball amung people I know IRL in that I've managed to make a career out of the field in which I studied. Still, I moved up to a job in my field above my previous one for more money & opportunity to do all the things....and gave up and moved back down after 2+ years. So, I am back where I started before then and I am happy with less status and influence and potential earnings.

Yes I gave up an opportunity, but I don't need it to be happy in life right now. Money will be enough and stress is less. Others are happy going up or not going as far as I am. It's a personal choice everyone has to make for themselves. As long as you are happy, then where you are is where you should be. No matter what anyone else can advise you.

Bliss knows Bliss and can make the best choice for her. If it turns out to not be the what you want, you can always go back and do again. Go you!

As for the job I left? I find it rather amusing that it is now being divided up into 2 two primary jobs and part handed off to someone else. Maybe I did some good in the long run by precipitating that change. Still, I'm happy I am back where I was.

Have a great one!

I will be doing NaNo for the first time this year, along with my missus who has done it for the last several. I won't be joining you for the Hangout/Skype events because 1) I am not kitted out for audio/video and 2) I myself would find it more distracting than helpful [#That'sJustHowIRoll]. But wishing all joy and success to those of you who will go that route!

I'm not a writer type, so no NaNoWriMo for me. I think I burn all my creativity writing code. Congratulations on the work success! I'm sure you'll make the right decision for you and your family.

No NaNoWriMo for me.

I would like to do it some year, but this doesn't feel like a good one for it.

I will happily applaud progress others make!

It being the anniversary of St. Crispian's Day, here's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrvKGA5h1vo

And as far as hate - BAH! There are so many stoopid people out there.

Hullo Bliss. I haven't been able to write anything more than political stuff for years. Sniff. Sigh.

Antisemitic anon hate?

Is that "anonymous" or "about to be here?" I'm guessing the former. I'm also guessing it's because of the picture you use for your avatar. People can be suckwads sometimes.

I just wanted you to know that I've missed you - my fault, but all of the churn and sturm und drang about social media has me completely out of rhythm.

Anyway. Bon chance on NaNoWriMo. "A man's got to know his limitations," quoth Dirty Harry, and writing a novel is one that I shall not be pushing against this year, more'n likely.

This comment is too darn long.

Blah day is blah. I can't seem to focus. Thanks for the kind words regarding my words.

NaNo isn't really in the cards for me. Probably ever. November is always a busy busy month for me and I barely have time for the things I need to do let alone those I want to.

Plus I'm very out of practice at wordsing in fiction.

Sorry for the Tumblr hate. Randos on the interwebs suck.

No NaNo for me - the moment I put any kind of challenge into the mix I stop doing everything altogether. A safer challenge would be to actually read something every day for November (I sense a trip to the library in my very near future).

Have you thought about Discord for a communal hangout?

You're welcome! I think I requested a friend link-up thingy from you ages ago but managed to miss the window to accept because of timezones.
