blissmorgan: (good morning)

It's a short morning before a long day, and I opted to spend it responding to comments and then reading everything on my Reading Page to be caught up, although I didn't make comments there. Tonight, perhaps.

For me, for now, in brief:
  • Resolved, roughly, the relationship wonk mentioned a few days ago. More on that later and filtered.
  • IKEA is weirdly comforting to me. More on that later as well, possibly with pictures.
  • Bullet Journalling:
  • I'm sorta doing the thing?
  • Water and Calorie tracking:
  • These are things I am doing with two separate apps; the water to keep me honest and hydrated, and the calorie just to get an idea of what the heck I'm actually putting into myself and is it Sufficient or Too Much or Not Enough. Since the latter app is, in fact, a weight loss app, I threw a goal in there. I've lost 5lbs this week, even though I feel like I've been eating more. Weird.

The weatherman keeps threatening snow. It keeps not showing up, but it keeps keeping me in a state of low-grade anxiety. I need new winter boots and keep not buying them. I think I'll get a snow scraper.

I've spent too much time on this because I had to make the bulleted list happen in HTML. Looking at the preview I did something wrong, and it looks weird. I think my HTML and the automagic HTML tags are fighting. Alas. I leave it, because late.

You too, huh? I'm just getting started with mine, I bought it yesterday, and this morning filled out a key page, a 6 month log, a monthly spread, and a week's page (starting next Sunday, because I'm not gonna get started until then.

It's fun and intuitive to me, but I know that's partly new project excitement. We'll see how I'm doing when the NPE wears off.

Oooh, my bullet journal is my brain. None of my real life people have any interest, so I love finding other journallers online! I have fallen down the fountain pen rabbit hole, so although I am almost exclusively of the minimalist bujo sort, I am having a ton of fun playing with different pens and inks.

So far I have a Pilot Metro, which was nice for the price, but one of the tines is bent so it’s pretty scratchy now. I love my TWSBI Eco, it’s my main every day pen and I love that I can see the ink inside. I’ve also been pleasantly surprised by the Online Switch, I’ve had it a few weeks and it’s much smoother than I expected for $20.

I’ve also got a few Jinhao Sharks ($3-4 and not amazing, but they’re fun and good for kids) and a TWSBI Go (probably awesome, but I’ve only had shimmer ink in it and it gets testy when it’s uncapped for more than a minute or two).

Depends on your style too, the Eco is pretty modern looking, while the Switch looks more like a ‘regular’ pen.

I get a lot from Goulet, they usually have helpful reviews and their descriptions are pretty accurate.

ZOMG I've been forgetting to check in here! I missed the Bliss! Though I've seen you on the blr.

The snow is hitting us tonight. Work folks are worried about tomorrows commute, but not me! I took the day off to go to the doctor! Nothing serious, just the annual checkup. That I haven't got in 3(?) years. How is it 2019?

Anywhos, glad things are looking up.

Instead of my usual D&D game this past sunday, I had a player out sick and another mysteriously absent who did not return texts or calls, so the rest of us tried out a game of Microscope. It's a world building game where you tell the history of a place or people, working from the big picture to the small, going forwards or backwards in time at will. It was cool. It was kind of a proof of concept for me as we are nearing the end of the prewritten adventure and I'd have no idea where to take them after. They'll be medium-high level (at most 15) by the end and I have 0 experience running for a party that high. So, why not build a homebrew world together?

Speaking of D&D games, I heard about this website that makes asynchronous D&D possible. Its called Role Gate and its kind of neat. I'm so disconnected from my internet friends now though that IDK who would want to play.

Yeah I did BBS style role-playing in the early 2000s, well more of a collaborative story telling thing, but I find the lack of structure doesn't work well for me anymore. I get paralyzed by choice and end up walking away and not really coming back.

If I end up starting a game I'll shoot you an invite?
