I've been getting so much pushback from people I've been encouraging to join me over here about how "It looks like blogs! ALLLLLL longposts and thinking, nuuuuuuu!" and I'm like, "bitch have you MET me?"

That's crazy for certain. I could never get many people to sign up here either, and when the Russians took over LJ, most of my friends from there just abandoned the platform in all its iterations (LJ, IJ, DW, et al). Most couldn't understand that the platform wasn't the problem. Ah, life.

The problem I'm running into seems to be that people are looking at this site as if it were Blogger...which REALLY did not have a good setup for people being able to cross-pollinate, in terms of reading and commenting and interacting on each other's posts. And I'm like, "But NO, it's not that at all!" and everybody's like "okay but we're still going to MeWe LOL"

I guess I can see how it looks like a Blogger type site. But it is (or can be) so much more.

I don't see the attraction to MeWe. Maybe it's just me.

It's not just you. I've been forcing myself to go there at least once a day, but I can't find a rhythm there at all.

Like, Tumblr is a blog type of site but they've got a mobile app so it feels more social media-y. You know?

That makes sense. Maybe it's because of the people and content I follow there, too, but it has pretty much never felt like a blog type site to me at all.

It would rock if this had a mobile app, but I’ve been doing it as much on my phone as on my desktop and find it to be suuuuuuuper functional on both.

It's the app thing that has me leaning towards MeWe at the moment. I don't tend to use the browser on my phone for much of anything so if there's not a dedicated app I tend to look elsewhere. Maybe there will be one coming soon, with the influx of new users talking about features or lack thereof.

I downloaded the app to try and keep up with MeWe and it still isn't impressing me very well. I get a LOT of notifications, and most of them are pretty irrelevant to my interests.
