A site is closing, moving, changing; with a great wail and gnashing of teeth (or in the case of some uncharitable few, mocking of those who gnash and wail), we lash out in the sea of change in search of new rocks on which to cling. Some offer handholds for more folk yet with greater exposure to the sloshing waves. Others have such dark and secret crannies that it is difficult to be sure who is in there with one, if at all.

But here, perhaps, is one that is both comforting in it's oddly familiar shape and yet new in its particulars, with soft moss to rest in, and conversation from those who are rest nearby. Perhaps it has a spot on which to eagerly cling for balance while slinging a new song out across the waters.

We can call others into a place strange and new, and perhaps we will find that it is home.

Hello, Blisstopia.

the changing of digital circumstance and the really supreme cough medicine

Now that's a combination, for certain. 💕

I saw that in the long Mornthing post over on G+. Oddly, steroids never did that to me. But guaifenesin / hydrocodone? Last time I took one of those, I actually fell asleep at my desk while trying to work, and stopped breathing. Woke up gasping for air. Yeah, no more hydrocodone for me.

Ditto on the breathing, both for me and you! I have interesting reactions to a number of meds I've taken over the years. For example, antidepressants make me more depressed, and suicidal.

So yeah, I handle all new meds these days with extreme caution.

I do see one minor issue with your chosen theme, and it becomes more noticeable as more comments are added to a thread. The space to display a given comment is narrow, and gets progressively more so.

For what that's worth.

I like that you've chosen the theme "Bliss for Summertime".

Welcome!

Ooh! Ooh! Dreamwidth supports RSS, so I can use Feedly to check on Dreamwidth journals along with other blogs. RSS readers have come a long way since I stopped using them and switched to Google+. Now, how hard is it to comment...

Not bad at all. If MeWe and pluspora support RSS, then I can just link everyone I care about into Feedly and then have one place to follow everyone and comment appropriatey. A bit kludgey, but this could work...

I’m trying to go back to the old days of reading people’s blogs. Using the Feedly app means I can read many blogs in one place, and can add in Dreamwidth journals as well. That way i don’t have to also check the Dreamwidth app.

One of the things I love best about this place is its pace, or rather lack thereof. All the other social media out there feel to me like rapids sweeping you toward the falls. There's so much going on every minute, with this expectation that you have to BE there every minute and keep up. Being here feels like reading editorial essays in a good newspaper, as opposed to watching cable news. #HopeThatMadeSense
