blissmorgan: (good morning)

It is a not-so-terrible state of affairs when I find myself having to choose between reading a snail-mail letter from afar while drinking my coffee, or catching up on the comments on my posts. Given the portability of the letter, I opted for the latter.

I'll do the former while on break at work, which is a long day today, and will be capped by taking a drive with SALM to play Ingress (remember Ingress? We only recently got into it.) and to hit the hot tub at the Y for a soak. Except I just remembered that it is Thursday - I think they close it for cleaning on Thursday.

Dangit, I was looking forward to that soak. Perhaps I shall go tomorrow!

Things in the offing:
  • Must update kitchen whiteboard calendar
  • Must add items to my BuJo Calendar (Spawn-to-Dad trips, D&D nights)
  • Must find a mechanic because I have given up on Bosslady giving me the number for hers
  • .....and then schedule my car for repairs
  • Must call the healthcare department and order a replacement card
  • ....and try to find a dentist
  • ....and schedule an appointment to get my mouth dealt with before this cavity becomes an infection
All for later. Now? To work!

Oh wow! Too bad you can't use a mechanic on teeth, or a dentist on a car.

Hopefully something relaxing is in the offing by tonight so you can refresh for those chores. Regardless, be well!

Sounds like a most excellent way to both start and end the day, I'd say. I feel like Ingress would be too complicated for me, but I might just suck it up and try it anyway because it seems like something I'd really like. I've been debating about it for a while, mostly because I've been pretty stationary the last few months, but worst case scenario, I don't like it (or am terrible at it) and move on to something else.

I hope the hot tub is open, our Y doesn't have one, which makes me sad, but I'm okay with just swimming for stress relief.

In fun news, I 3D printed an airplane today!

Grown up time is definitely important, even if the conversation isn't serious. I love my kids, but talking to them almost exclusively for too long was making me a little batty in the early stages of broken leg.

Planes! Yesterday was a cute little Cessna 337, I got the file off the internet and it's not particularly detailed, but it's definitely an airplane. No moving parts, just the basic plane shape. I'm working on tweaking the print settings because we're probably going to end up printing a bunch of them for one of our partners, and those will be fancier with decals and maybe some paint if we can find somebody arty that wants the job. I printed some more today, and our pilot friend was quite fascinated. I posted a picture on Instagram (I'm salulabu, my account is public), but I don't know how to do images here yet. At the rate I'm going, I'll probably be able to take over the world with the fleet of baby airplanes on my desk :)

Teeth can be the worst, I hope you can get it sorted quickly! We generally have a two- or three-week wait on dental appointments, will you have much of a wait once you get a card?

Argh. Dentists.... I have had a large number of problems with them over the years. And still need to get some work done (I'm in the balancing act of I need three things, all major surgeries likely, and all likely to max out my insurance spending for the year... hip replacement, and I still have cataract surgery to deal with in the future).

Best wishes on finding a good dentist, if you do hold on to them, as they are few and far between when compared to bad ones.
